The hood for the 28/2Asph gets a lot of stick for its appearance, but it is very effective. However, if you'd like a neater but less effective option, consider the S+W Photo Co (Boise,ID and San Fran, Ca), Made In China hoods. I got mine through eBay. I think they were very cheap. I bought them a year ago but £12 rings a bell. They're metal hoods, light but sturdy, offering physical as well as glare protection. The lens cap fits well and securely, and has a small loop for a lanyard. I also purchased one for the 50Lux and this is much more effective than the built-in hood. Neither cause vignetting. rramesh Posted November 15, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 15, 2013 Get the Leica GG1, GG2 and GG3 set from eBay. All 46mm and the GG1 works very well with the 28 Summicron even with a filter. The GG2 will work well with the 50 Lux and the GG3 for a 90mm like the Elmarit-M.
