jdlaing Posted November 14, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted November 14, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had opportunity today to test how the EVF worked with the WATE in a more practical way. I think I still prefer the Frankenfinder. The optics make all the difference to me. I have no problem with the EVF. It is more than useable. It would be great with zoom lenses but I don't own any R lenses or zooms that I would use on the M. I never did mind the size of the Frankenfinder on the camera. Leicaiste Posted November 15, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted November 15, 2013 Isn't the WATE a zoom. I mean that you can use it between the focal marks. With the EVF.
algrove Posted November 15, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted November 15, 2013 Isn't the WATE a zoom. I mean that you can use it between the focal marks. With the EVF. Â You are correct, however one can also position the FL settings on the lens in between the main markings. I find the Frankenfinder only changes its FL view at each stop and not in between FL settings, Â The OP is just stating his preference with this lens, VF combo. With the EVF framing would be more accurate and using the Frankenfinder it more an educated guess.
