Wotsisname Posted November 13, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted November 13, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know if you can get an R to M adaptor? Â So, to be clear, R mount to M lens. Â I want to get the metabones speed booster which has an R mount, but I have M lenses! Â Does anyone know if combining an adaptor and the speed booster will make the flange distance between lens and sensor too great for the M-series lenses? Â Its for mounting on a Lumix GH3 digital camera if that makes any difference. Â Many thanks all, Â Jules

earleygallery Posted November 13, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted November 13, 2013 I'm not clear what you're trying to do. Â You can get an adaptor to mount an R lens on an M or m4/3rds camera. Â You cannot mount an M lens on an R body for normal use as the film/sensor plane to mount distance is greater on an R body.
TomB_tx Posted November 13, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted November 13, 2013 There are adapters which will mount an M lens on an R body, but the lens spacing is set for Visoflex on an M, so only Visoflex M lenses will focus to infinity on the R. Normal M lenses would only work in extreme close-up,

TomB_tx Posted November 13, 2013 Share #6  Posted November 13, 2013 OK - Leitz 14167 adapter. Shown here next to a Chinese R-lens-to-M-mount for comparison. The two mate together to make either an R or M extension tube! Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Then here is an M viso lens (200mm) mounted on an R4 using the 14167 adapter. Obviously, due to the resulting flange to film distance being equal to a Visoflex III on an M body, mounting a non-viso M lens it would only focus extremely close - but it can be done.
