Paul J Posted November 14, 2013 Share #61 Posted November 14, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica listened to their customers and created a simple light tight box with a shutter speed dial on it and no LCD. The problem is it is so tight you can't get the camera out.
Advertisement Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Hi Paul J, Take a look here Disappointed with the new M240 Box. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pico Posted November 14, 2013 Share #62 Posted November 14, 2013 I have a small, brown burlap bag marked, LEICA but I suspect it is a fake. I put tape over the logo so no one would steal it. It contains a potato which will be part of a potato clock when I find out a potato clock is. All I have to go on is my wife's advice regarding my being late for work, "Pico! Get uh potato clock!" ??? AlanJW Posted November 15, 2013 Share #63 Posted November 15, 2013 I kept my M9 box as a backup to my M240 box. You cannot truly hope to go out on an important assignment without a backup box. But I wish they would offer a M240P box without any red dots.
steveBK Posted November 15, 2013 Share #64 Posted November 15, 2013 My next biggest disappointment with the M240 box is the supposed weather sealing. Took it out in the rain, and it's never looked the same again. So much for truth in advertising!

bideford Posted November 15, 2013 Share #66 Posted November 15, 2013 What we need is a box for the box. Mine was delivered with a box for the box. And a box for the box for the box. James

rob139 Posted November 16, 2013 Share #68 Posted November 16, 2013 Did anyone experience straplug problems with this model of the box? I just want to make absolutely sure that mine doesn't hit the pavement while shooting street. That's not stealth.
Paul J Posted November 16, 2013 Share #69 Posted November 16, 2013 Mine too.And some nifty styrofoam peanuts that dissolve in water and some bubble wrap. What batch date do you have? Can anyone else confirm the "dissolve in water" bug?
AlanJW Posted November 16, 2013 Share #70 Posted November 16, 2013 What batch date do you have? Can anyone else confirm the "dissolve in water" bug? That is not a bug. It is a feature.
Paul J Posted November 16, 2013 Share #71 Posted November 16, 2013 That is not a bug. It is a feature. Guess you could call that a water feature.
farnz Posted November 16, 2013 Share #72 Posted November 16, 2013 Now that I've had my M240 box for a few months I've started suffering from BAS. I feel a powerful urge to collect the digital box set. Pete.
pharyngula Posted November 16, 2013 Share #73 Posted November 16, 2013 Really - another M240 box thread? It's just a tool folks. In the right hands a Kleenex box is capable of storing stuff just as well. I remember when some of you were complaining even before the box was released from Solms. Just go out and use your box instead of whining about it in a forum.
Rick Posted November 17, 2013 Author Share #74 Posted November 17, 2013 Day spent out in the sun reading my M240 owner's manual. The words kept disappearing.
Gibbo Posted November 17, 2013 Share #75 Posted November 17, 2013 Can anyone recommend a cover for the manual? Mine is starting to show unsightly fingerprints since taking it out of the box
AlanJW Posted November 17, 2013 Share #76 Posted November 17, 2013 Day spent out in the sun reading my M240 owner's manual. The words kept disappearing. This is user error. The manual is not designed to be read. It is supposed to stay in the box so it can be transferred to the next owner.
bab Posted November 19, 2013 Share #77 Posted November 19, 2013 My M240 special edition camera box came with a Geheimfach and I was instructed not to open it until Nov. 31st 2013 I am convinced it contains software to enable firmware updates to correct many things not yet announced for the M....check your boxes. viramati Posted November 19, 2013 Share #78 Posted November 19, 2013 my back-up box is now the fuji X-Pro1 box and very nice it is too though I didn't come with the brown protective covering
ronaldh Posted November 19, 2013 Share #79 Posted November 19, 2013 Whenever I sell a Leica camera or lens second hand I am told that it's worth more with the box. However, the box alone has no value. Can someone explain the logic of this?
lct Posted November 19, 2013 Share #80 Posted November 19, 2013 The box does has value. Do a search on e**y and you'll see how much you can earn with yours.
