Keith (M) Posted November 12, 2013 Share #1  Posted November 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) After three years of M9 ownership - I waved it farewell and welcomed my new M this morning Trying out LV & focus-aid with 90mm Elmarit-M 90mm @ f2.8 and minimum focus distance. Very pleased at how easy it is to determine exact focus!   Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted November 13, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted November 13, 2013 Keith, Â With this picture you now have all of us non-owners of the M Leica quite envious. This is obviously a wonderful camera quite capable of superlative photography. Â Paul
Keith (M) Posted November 13, 2013 Author Share #6 Â Posted November 13, 2013 Thank you, Paul. I would like to think that my previous M9 would have achieved a very similar result and (at least for web usage) so would a film M. One combination of features on the M did make taking the image much easier though. Live View meant it was much easier to compose the image whilst squatting in the grass (and trying desperately not to fall over!) whilst focus-finder ensured that the black edges of the fungi caps were the point of focus and as sharp as possible, bearing in mind that this was at max aperture and minimum distance. Karl G Posted November 14, 2013 Share #8 Â Posted November 14, 2013 Beautiful mushrooms and photo. They are quite tasty as long as you don't consume them with alcohol. If you do, you get an Antabuse reaction, which can quickly teach you the evils of alcohol consumption
George Furst Posted November 27, 2013 Share #9 Â Posted November 27, 2013 Yes they certainly look like what I used to call inky caps. They are wonderful mushrooms for the gourmet eater too. I used to collect them in Maine in late September/October. Problem is you must put them on ice immediatily as they are named ink caps for a reason as they digest themselves after they have released their spores. I once picked allot on a trip and by the time we reached home two hours later they had turned to soup!
