I've kept coming back to this. The more I look at it, the more I'm fascinated how this organic creature fits increasingly into the clinically geometric backdrop. How uncannily the slope of the gentleman's back and head touch perfectly a diagonal whilst his eye-line appears to follow another. How the triangular patterns continue to be recreated by his body, trouser leg and walking stick positions. And how that walking stick detail makes contact with that diagonal.

The glow and colour are essential, IMO. I think this is a superb photograph.

Nice one, I really like how the composition goes well with the content. The IQ is a bit iffy, is this taken with a camera phone (if I may ask)?

Edit----

Just remember where I was, the Leica Forum. Perhaps asking that is a bit disconcerting :p

Peter,

A great picture with fine composition, moment, colors and sharpness. Even with the colors in the background, I believe I would prefer this in b&w.

I think both versions work well. The color background is a contrast to the grey clothes. But in B&W it is also interesting.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to look and to comment. I really do appreciate it and hope always to learn from your observations.

And Rod, no, it wasn't a camera phone. I'm afraid I can't blame the lack of quality on my equipment! ;)
