fotografr Posted November 5, 2013 Share #1  Posted November 5, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have no idea what kind of tree this is. I've walked past it many times and just today noticed how unique it is with the number of branches that come from the trunk so close to the base of the tree. This is at eye level. Iduna Posted November 5, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted November 5, 2013 Brent, this 3 dimensional building is great in composition and texture and toning.
Northwest Wanderer Posted November 5, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted November 5, 2013 Brent, Super sharp image. Maybe you could photograph a leaf from the tree. Between the detailed bark image and a leaf image someone could identify it.
Karl G Posted November 6, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted November 6, 2013 Lovely clustered tangle, one could trim firewood branches and leave a very viable tree for awhile with a growth pattern like that. Nice execution and neat shapes.
pauledell Posted November 6, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted November 6, 2013 Brent, Â A lovely picture with the lovely tones, excellent lighting, marvelous detail and sharpness. I can imagine what I would be doing to that tree when I was a youngster. How far can I climb up in that tree? Â Paul

Peter H Posted November 7, 2013 Share #9 Â Posted November 7, 2013 That's a very nice photo Brent. I think it's a Scots Pine. Â Does it shed pine cones in the late summer?
wattsy Posted November 7, 2013 Share #10 Â Posted November 7, 2013 Yes, my first thought was a Scot's Pine. Does the bark have a reddish hue? They often seem to grow with a complicated set of trunks and I find these hardy trees to form quite an evocative feature of the landscape near to me (rows of twisted and bent Scot's Pines are a distinctive feature in many parts of East Anglia). fotografr Posted November 7, 2013 Author Share #11 Â Posted November 7, 2013 I think you are both correct. It does shed cones in late summer and the bark is somewhat reddish. Thanks.
