Dikaiosune01 Posted October 30, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted October 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) After 3 weeks with the 240, I've begun to get comfortable with my weapon of choice, the 50mm plannar. So I decided to diversify, I've got an old, first generation Elmar that I sometimes use when I need to stuff the camera into my pocket. Â The Elmar works great on my M3. however I'm noticing some problems on the 240... (1) the 50mm framelines don't come up (2) the fit is a lot more snug and there is not enough leverage on the lens. As a result; i'm forced to use the focusing tab to mount or detach the lens. <-- probably not a good idea? (3) How to encode it? summarit? Elmar-M? Uncoded? Can these lenses be coded and adjusted after importing the files into adobe camera raw? (note: I don't know how to use lightroom yet, I still prefer bridge and photoshop)
Advertisement Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Hi Dikaiosune01, Take a look here Old lenses: 50 Elmar on the 240 concerns?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jip Posted October 30, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted October 30, 2013 I tried a old 1960's Elmar 50mm on my M240 today, worked as a charm so I think it's your lens/camera combination not playing nice?! I manually selected the 50mm f2.8 lens from the lens menu on the M240, not sure if that is the best, but atleast it shows in the exif so I know that I used the Elmar
tobey bilek Posted November 2, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted November 2, 2013 Tolerance stackup is working against you. One of the two or both need adjustment.
earleygallery Posted November 2, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted November 2, 2013 The focus tab is designed to help with removing the lens, locked at infinity. Â It should bring up the 50mm frames, maybe your camera needs adjustment!
