Old lenses: 50 Elmar on the 240 concerns?

After 3 weeks with the 240, I've begun to get comfortable with my weapon of choice, the 50mm plannar. So I decided to diversify, I've got an old, first generation Elmar that I sometimes use when I need to stuff the camera into my pocket.

The Elmar works great on my M3. however I'm noticing some problems on the 240...

(1) the 50mm framelines don't come up

(2) the fit is a lot more snug and there is not enough leverage on the lens. As a result; i'm forced to use the focusing tab to mount or detach the lens. <-- probably not a good idea?

(3) How to encode it? summarit? Elmar-M? Uncoded? Can these lenses be coded and adjusted after importing the files into adobe camera raw? (note: I don't know how to use lightroom yet, I still prefer bridge and photoshop)

I tried a old 1960's Elmar 50mm on my M240 today, worked as a charm so I think it's your lens/camera combination not playing nice?!

I manually selected the 50mm f2.8 lens from the lens menu on the M240, not sure if that is the best, but atleast it shows in the exif so I know that I used the Elmar :)
