Advertisement Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Hi leica1215, Take a look here lens filter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted October 25, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2013 A normal UV filter, or a 'protector' filter which is just clear optical coated glass. Multicoated filters are best, from one of the usual quality brands.
Susie Posted October 25, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 25, 2013 On my 35/2 Summicron there is a little rubber cap which fits over the front of the lens hood: much more convenient that having to remove the hood to put the cap on. The Summilux might have the same. Personally, the only lens I have a UV filter on for protection on is the 21/2.8 Elmarit, and only then because when I bought the lens it was already on! algrove Posted October 26, 2013 Share #4 Posted October 26, 2013 I use UVa's for protection and leave the lens cap or hood cap off when working.
