So cool...so sweet... Congrats.. Beautiful outfit.. I'm a wide angle fan too.. But I like em on MF and LF... I just ordered an Ebony 8x10 WA camera..due in here in 1 month or so.. I'm gonna use my WA Protars on it..even have a Rodenstock 130mm coated Perigon f12 just for it..got it from Germany awhile back.. There is something special about extreme WA.. On any format..

Photoskeptic Posted October 20, 2013 Share #6 Posted October 20, 2013 Dierk, a terrific little lens. It doesn't appear you are using an adapter. Excuse my ignorance but since it is a Contax "G" lens how does it mount?

dierk Posted October 20, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted October 20, 2013 Dierk, a terrific little lens. It doesn't appear you are using an adapter. Excuse my ignorance but since it is a Contax "G" lens how does it mount? this is/was a Contax G-lens converted to Leica-M, therefor no adapter is required. Please see the picture of the rear element of the lens in my previous post.

Thomas p.s: are You able to measure correct LV values with this deeply intruding lens, or do You measure with a handheld meter? thanks duckrider! and thanks for the links, I was about to post theme here. I asked Zoerkendorfer, but he stoped converting the G-lenses, as the CV15mm came out and there where no more requests. The MM exposures are perfect like with other lenses, no problems! here is the box: and the new back cover, that was necessary after the conversion dierk
dierk Posted October 20, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted October 20, 2013 Does someone know how this lens compares to the 15mm Hologon made previously, also in Leica m mount ? the main difference is: the price the original lens is about 18k$, if you find one and it has no T* coting and uses 3 lenses instead of 5 in the G version try this link http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129065&highlight=hologon there will be a G version in the next Westlicht auction in November! biglou Posted October 20, 2013 Share #13 Posted October 20, 2013 Thank you for the link, Dirk, the one at Westlicht is the rare 15mm. All i found is that the newer one, 16mm, is supposed to have some more contrast. Nice shots.

RinoJasper Posted October 21, 2013 Share #16 Posted October 21, 2013 Very nice on the MM. I have the same lens converted by DAG camera, however mounted on the M9 it is worthless - see picture. Wish I knew someone in Houston with a MM to try on. I have tried CornerFix in the past but was unsuccessful, I have downloaded the newer version and hope to have better success. All suggestions are appreciated, loved this lens on the Contax G2 and was hopeful for the M9. Rino Welcome, dear visitor! jsjxyz Posted October 21, 2013 Share #17 Posted October 21, 2013 Amazing lens, what is your ND center filter? Without filter, can we fix it in LR automatically? Thanks JSJ
tobey bilek Posted October 21, 2013 Share #18 Posted October 21, 2013 Monochrome seems decent. M9 not so good. Did you set up a proper profile for corner fix for the M9? I use a large white board from art supply store, 3 feet on the long side. It is required to have even illumination. With wide lenses, holding the camera low and aiming upward seems to be the trick. That keeps shadows off the board. Focus does not matter. Leave lens at infinity. Use center filter if you have it.
RinoJasper Posted October 21, 2013 Share #19 Posted October 21, 2013 I'll try to make a new profile with your suggestions. Thank you Tobey.
dierk Posted October 21, 2013 Author Share #20 Posted October 21, 2013 a few more from my first session with the Hologon all hand held, no ND center filter click for larger version all ISO 6400!! on this one I tried to compensate the vignetting on both sides with LR5, that means to push ISO6400 by 2 EV! it looks terrible but you can see the linearity on the wall. Have to come back with tripod soon. dierk
