35mm f/1.4 Summilux M Asph - "Ein Stuck"

I started browsing a bit in order to decide which lenses to buy to replace the stolen ones, and I found this specific lens at a good price.

 

I googled a bit about it, and I found out it was part of a specific kit with an M6 (if I remember correctly).

 

I don't mind the extra "Ein Stuck" on the lens barrel, so... would it be a good choice? I'm not sure if it's 100% identical (optically and mechanically) to a normal Summilux Asph...

 

I'm also undecided between this one and a 35mm f/2 Summicron Asph "black paint" (slightly cheaper.

 

I guess the Summilux is a bit better in terms of detail, but what I don't know how those perform bokeh-wise... Which one has a smoother bokeh in your opinion?

Buy the one you really want first, or you'll be dis-satisfied until you finally get it. For 50 years I always stayed with Summicrons while looking wistfully at the Summilux, so finally in the last few years started splurging and trying the f1.4s. I discovered I generally preferred the results I got with my old lenses, and now that I know that my Lux-envy has subsided. In fact, I now find my 35 Summarit-M is my preferred lens on the M9.

I'm not necessarily fascinated by the "famous names" of the Leica lineup... The stolen lens I will miss more is a 250€ Canon 50 mm f/1.4, just to give you an idea

 

I'll try to find some Summicron vs. Summilux bokeh comparisons...

 

I do love fast lenses, but mainly in the 50mm-90mm range, so I can definitely decide to buy the Summicron and not regret the choice... But only if the bokeh is smoother.

It reads "Ein Stück Leica", meaning a piece of Leica. In 1996 Leica went to the stock exchange market. The corresponding M6 had the printing "Börsengang".

So one could buy a "piece of Leica" and/or a "share of Leica". See Leica-wiki.

There were 1000 Luxes made with the printing.

It is said, that the design suffers from focus shift.

 

I have bought one from early 1996 and paid 2500 Euro last year.

It works fine with my APS-C camera, but I use only 75% of the performance of the lens.

75%, because I take the center (the better ) part out of the picture.
