Thanks Paul.

I took the picture from the safety of my vehicle ( motor running). Max zoom on the V-Lux 4. She had three cubs with her. Amazingly others that stopped to view were getting out of their cars to take photos. I guess you really can't fix stupid.

Saw a huge grizzly up in Alberta years ago. Same scenario, people leaving their vehicles. The only difference was two young guys walked into the woods to get a close image. As they walked past my car they said they were going to get the picture of a lifetime. Can you imagine that?

Bill, a really unique image of an extraordinary animal. I like that your shot depicts her going

about her own business, apparently oblivious of the audience she has attracted.

I wonder if all three cubs belonged to her, that's a very large rearing responsibility for any mom!

Thanks Karl, Iduna, Dee & Dick

These bears are a real treat to see.

Dee, the female grizzly will have two and sometimes three cubs per litter. Often only one or two (with luck) will survive. Sad but it's natures way.

Dick, thanks for the kind words about the V-Lux 4. It does seem to be underrated. It made this photo possible.
