Hank Taylor Posted September 25, 2013 Share #1  Posted September 25, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got out my old Telyt R 4.8 AND PUT IT ON MY NIKON D600. Stood in middle of the road and prefocused . We were both surprised. I forgot how much fun it is to use this old great lense. This is the same lens I liked using for shooting my airshow shots.  Hank Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted September 26, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted September 26, 2013 Hank, Â A great shot. I love the expression on the girl's face. I recall your airshow pictures and am amazed at the sharpness of the military aircraft in the air. If I recall, you had captured several WWII fighters and some jet fighters also. Karl G Posted September 26, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted September 26, 2013 Lovely picture and very sharp Subjects are very interesting on the bike. I like planes so the others are a slam dunk. I prefer a slower shutter speed that doesn't freeze the prop. Looks scary.

Thanks Karl, I use to like shooting at a slower shutter speed but when I noticed my sharpness was not up to speed (no pun intended) I started using a faster speed to take advantage of the sharpness of the Leica lens. It's not like shooting a car race when I enjoyed shooting at 500 sec These shots were at 4000. Actually Karl I was accused of using a model on this particular shot of the P-51, so then it's not such a bad idea in showing a little prop blur. Karl G Posted September 27, 2013 Share #6  Posted September 27, 2013 Been there, did that, but worse. Largest collection of flying B-17s flew a 7 ship missing man on the 50th anniversary . I opened up thinking the number 2 ship would be going out of the DOF for effect and succeeded in Aperture priority mode to bang out a HSS sequence of @ 20 shots with 28 stopped props
