stickan1 Posted September 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was out today in lovely fall weather with strong colours, I have published two images in the landscape section that I think only work in colour. But here is a scene where I think that the BW version is the better one. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Hi stickan1, Take a look here Autumn forest, BW and colour. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted September 21, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 21, 2013 Stig, Both are fine pictures and I agree with you that this one is better in b&w with the dynamic tones. Paul
Northwest Wanderer Posted September 21, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 21, 2013 Stig, Both very nice to look at. Now the conundrum. The color image makes the water stand out against the green trees and moss. The B&W image accentuates the rocks. I like both but for the reasons stated,I can't say I favor one over the other. platypus Posted September 22, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 22, 2013 Both are lovely shots, but...b&w for me, always.
Karl G Posted September 22, 2013 Share #5 Posted September 22, 2013 Lovely stream and color for me.
Iduna Posted September 22, 2013 Share #6 Posted September 22, 2013 Stig, both are beautiful. I like both versions and their different effects. I tend to prefer the color version because there is nice light on the moss and its color tinge on the water. This is a very attractive location. newnew Posted September 22, 2013 Share #7 Posted September 22, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stig, I prefer the B&W because of the richness of the tones in the trees that also provides a bigger sense of depth. Nice one.
stickan1 Posted September 22, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted September 22, 2013 Thanks Ali, Iduna and all others for your comments. It is always interesting to hear what others see in an image even though at the end it is always your own choice and vision that should decide. But it is a learning process and I am grateful for your comments.
allamande Posted September 24, 2013 Share #9 Posted September 24, 2013 Stig, They are both beautiful. But for me the color puts me right in the scene and I can imagine myself hiking along that river, hearing the water. What a gorgeous spot!
