50/2 APO lens stop production?

I have heard from one of Leica Boutique says that Apo-Summicron-M 50/2 Asph has stopped production? Have you heard anything?

Yes, production had stopped for a few weeks in order to fix an issue with veiling flares. But it continued this week—at least that's what they planned. Anyway, it's just a temporary interruption of production, not the final discontinuation. If you want this lens then just put an order somewhere as soon as possible and don't bother worrying about temporary production stops. Most likely you'll have to wait several months anyway.

Suggest the same. Putting in an order does not guarantee early delivery.

I finally got off the hook on any further commitments. So there are now plenty to go around.

Lou, can you describe the differences in image rendering across your selection of 50 AA?

I have read several "experts":o comment that ordering a couple of samples of any lens is a good idea in order to pick the best one.

Thanks!

That is a tough question for me right now. They both have exhibited remarkable clarity. Frankly I find neither is better than the other. I am using one right now and put the other away for a rest.

I would post images more often but downsizing here gets to be tedious for me.
