Hank Taylor Posted September 17, 2013 Share #1  Posted September 17, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Have you ever what happens to coconut trees? Not really? Well let me tell you. The hottest growing market here in the Philippines is now Coconut wood flooring. It is harvested from coconut plantations at the end of their coconut- bearing years(50 years) and are then cut down and replanted with new coconut palms with the old palms made into coconut wood flooring. I thought you would find that interesting. Now you know. Hank Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted September 17, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted September 17, 2013 Hank, Â A fine picture and very informative. Perhaps some of your Philipine friends might try to export coconut logs to the USA and start a new trend for flooring. Â Paul
Karl G Posted September 18, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted September 18, 2013 Neat story, I didn't know and the people in your picture nicely put that long timber in perspective. Amazing that it isn't a tree as we know it, but in the same family as grasses.
