rramesh Posted September 9, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted September 9, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wonder if anyone has done a comparison between the Voigtlander 15-35 Multiformat Finder and the Leica Universal finder (Frankenfinder). I seem to like the former for its size but I can't get both to do a side-by-side test.

01af Posted September 9, 2013 Share #2  Posted September 9, 2013 The Voigtländer 15-35 mm Zoom-Finder has less height and width than the Universal-Weitwinkelsucher-M (a. k. a. 'Frankenfinder') but it's very long. It has no bright framelines; it's the whole field-of-view that defines your frame. It zooms continuously, and the magnification will change accordingly. There's no parallax correction and no bubble level.  The Universal-Weitwinkelsucher-M has a constant field-of-view (similar to the M camera's viewfinder, just wider) and it will show various bright framelines of five different sizes (for 16, 18, 21, 24, and 28 mm, always one at a time). It has a very useful bubble level inside the finder which however will work only in landscape orientation. It also includes a manual parallax correction for distances between 0.5 m and infinity. algrove Posted September 9, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted September 9, 2013 Assume you must have a 15 OVF. Why not just use your M with EVF?
Guest camera man Posted September 9, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted September 9, 2013 I have ordered the UWF from my Leica dealer. I will use it with my 21 SEM and 28 Summicron . My camera is a film MP with a 0.72 VF. I have issues with the 28mm bright line frame lines on my MP.

I like that one and use it when going with my 18, but I also use the #12013 which fits right over the lens center and adjusts well from 21-24-28. Very bright finder and sells for much less than the Frankenfinder. It also has the screw down connector for use on the flash shoe.
