Since my MKII was mounted with the Zeiss Distagon 18 mm I can only post here my impressions with the X1.

We spent a few hours on top of the Rockefeller Center and being busy with 2 cameras being pushed around by a milling crowd the X1 served as backup.

Iduna,

Even to us nature lovers, this picture is awe inspiring with the city spread out in front of us in all its glory. Beautiful lighting, colors, clarity and composition.

Paul,

how right you are. We are nature-lovers. But from time to time one must have these adventures in a really big city with its buildings and the structures, architecture in various lighting.

Thanks for your comment, which I appreciate very much

Karl,

thanks for enjoying the warm light.

Iduna,

This is one of those iconic views and you've done great despite all that was going on around you. I think NYC is worth visiting as often as possible

Lovely peach coloured light and sky, so delicate and subtle. From this elevation it gives the impression of being a "faery" city.

The first time I ever saw NY was from this perspective, in an aircraft, more than forty years ago. I have never forgotten how perfectly beautiful it was.

Agree with the previous comments - lovely and gentle light, superb shot of a super city. X1 is no slouch - the new trade center and crane on top is very clear and Goldman Sachs building on the other side of the river is recognizable as well.

Ravi,

oh,thanks. I'll put more effort in this little camera. It is hard work to tweak it but a pleasure to see if somebody likes the results.
