Karl-Heinz,

this was worth going back to this flower for having another close-up. The details are amazing and the light is very good. I tis very difficult to control the yellow because it blooms easily. Welldone!

Guenther, Henry, Iduna,

Thanks again.

I could easily use my M9 and modern M lenses.

However, these older lenses have their own charm, problems, and challenges.

It feels great though, when despite lens imperfections, one manages to create a pleasing image.

Of course, post-processing is important in this effort.

So, first I had to remove chromatic aberration.

In ACR I also chose Contrast = -25, and Clarity = +50, no Sharpening or Noise Reduction.

ISO was fine at 800 but setting Clarity = +50 generates a lot of noise in the image that needs to be reduced.

For that I used Nik Define 2. Then I applied Raw Sharpener selectively, as shown here in white,

by setting a few U Points. No Sharpening is applied in the dark areas.

Finally I applied Nik Output Sharpening at 25% in the white areas only.

That's it.

I just love how new cameras M9, D800E, NEX-5N, NEX-7, and OM-D E-M5 let these older Leitz lenses shine,

if appropriately post-processed with software that seems to get better all the time. :)

It's certainly an enjoyable continuously learning exercise on my part.
