Paul J Posted October 21, 2013 Share #61 Â Posted October 21, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does the distortion in the Leica 21mm viewfinder match/replicate the distortion of the lens? Â Are any viewfinders better for this in that regard?
Advertisement Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Hi Paul J, Take a look here Leica 21mm Summilux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FrozenInTime Posted October 21, 2013 Share #62  Posted October 21, 2013 The lens is rectilinear producing only very slight pincushion distortion  There is a bit of barrel distortion in the Leica 21mm finder #12024 The frame lines are straight - not so accurate.  The Frankenfinder #12011 has very visible distortion, but the frame lines are shaped to match this. So it's possible to align that barrel shaped door with the barrel shaped frame lines and get reasonable alignment. The horizontal bubble also helps. algrove Posted October 21, 2013 Share #63 Â Posted October 21, 2013 Many have said the 21/1.4 IS a wide angle Noctilux. Â Glad you like yours Neil as I recall some time ago you were asking for comment. That thread deteriorated into a "do we need 1.4?" My answer-YES.
