rick123 Posted April 9, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Â Recognizing your "leicability", I was wondering what the chances are of Leica making their next version of the D-Lux camera with a viewfinder. I actually enjoy using my D-Lux 2 more than my M6. Many thanks for answering me & hopefully passing this on to the powers that be! Â Rick
Guest guy_mancuso Posted April 9, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 9, 2007 My guess is we will see there product line grow a lot with the 4/3rds systems and there P & S sysytems and with partnerships of other companies like Panasonic and such. Thi is a big market for Leica to tap into. Just look at all the P&S camera out there
larry Posted April 9, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted April 9, 2007 I'd love to see Leica introduce a 4/3 based rangefinder camera with some of the technical bells and whistles that some have wanted in the M8. Frankly, I think they should keep the M series true to its roots -- meaning simple with manual controls to engage the photographer. However, a new body and advanced lenses designed around the 4/3 sensor could be very compact and deliver high-quality results. This could defuse the criticism (which I think is BS based on a lack of understanding) that Leica can only make cameras that are anachronisms. Angora Posted April 9, 2007 Share #4  Posted April 9, 2007 Which anachronism ? I would rather see an R10 and an M9 with a full frame sensor ! Technology is going ahead everyday so it's likely that a « Leica compliant » FF sensor will soon be released on the market.
