Sometimes I use the 75 S'cron instead of the 90, but usually I take the 90. It's tiny and sharp, sharp, sharp. Currently have the CV 35/2.5, but plan to upgrade that to the 35 cron when funds allow. 35 is by far my favorite. I'd always planned to go for a 21 (3.4/21 most likely) at the wide end, and a 90 (tele or elmarit-M) on the long end which I was going to add next. But now I'm not so sure, maybe a 75 cron would be more versatile on the long end? Oh boy. Maybe I should save more and get the 35 lux FLE? So I suppose I'd say 21 35 90(75?) Its funny, when i first got into leica, coming from nikon, I thought there were not many lens choices, but really, there are in a way more. I'm discovering that the quality is the same for every lens, and you choose on characteristics, which is far harder than just getting the 'pro' kit in nikon land. CaptZoom Posted September 30, 2013 Share #131 Posted September 30, 2013 It's definitely easier choosing lenses in dSLR land- with one or two exceptions, the IQ gap is huge between the pro and non-pro grade lenses in the Canon/Nikon line up. Whereas just about any lens in current production for RFs, is at least good. The scale for RF lens goes from good to exceptional, whereas for dSLRs it goes from mediocre to great, maybe a couple of exceptional lenses. After some time using mostly a 75mm I started using 35mm again and wow, is this lens good. I love them both again. Yet, there are occasions where I need something wider so I plan on adding a 21 SEM, and sometimes something longer so maybe I'll add a 135 APO too. I also might add a CV 12mm just for fun. The idea at the beginig was 35 and 75 only, but obviously I am having a GAS so my brain tells me the minimalistic "cover it all" set would be: 12, 21, 35, 75 and 135. Have fun!!! I'd actually go for the 35 lux. Weddings are tight. Context is nice. I wish I would have listened to you. I didn't want to take two 50s on my trip so I took the APO. Sadly, the wedding was very dimly lit and my APO was useless. Plus who cares about sharpness in wedding pics? It's about flattering portraits mostly. I even had the 35 lux but I left it at the hotel. I bought it and got it 6-bit coded. After that I bought the "basic lenses" all black: 28 mm f/2.0, the current Summicron 50 mm f/1.4, the current Summilux 90 mm f/2.0, the current APO Summicron That felt good. I got the lenses last Friday. But... I decided to get one more, a new Summicron ASPH in 35 mm and in chrome. Just for the occasions when I leave the Billingham bag home and have just 1 lens. This might sound semi-insane but the part making the whole story really stupid comes now: I found from Germany a new Leica R 80-200 f/4.0 with a full 1 year Leica guarantee. I know, the R to M adapter has not arrived to the shops yet but I "had" to get this lens. I think today I might start finally shooting! Best, KOL And your brand new M was waiting in the closet as you were on your lens buying spree. And whose legs are you pulling again? By the way, I see big holes in your line up. A 12,15,18,21,24,75,135mm, a few more 35 and 50mm, the tri elmar are missing and then you should double all of them, one set with the fastest glass available and the other with the lightest lenses around.
