And even then you have to pare down which lenses to bring for fear of bringing more camels than wildlife to shoot.
Advertisement Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Hi algrove, Take a look here perfect lens kit. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rcoles Posted September 4, 2013 Share #82 Posted September 4, 2013 I have: 35 f/2 ASPH 50 f/2 V4 90 f2.8 135 f/4 Tele-Elmar and a 21 f/2.8 Zeiss My perfect kit is my M9 and the 35f/2 or M9 with the 50mm and the X2 (effective 35mm) The 21mm is third most used lens behind the 35 and 50. The 90mm & 135 hopefully will get more use once I get the M. One camera and one lens is my favorite way to shoot. The X2 is my take everywhere camera and is also a great second camera. lmitch6 Posted September 6, 2013 Share #86 Posted September 6, 2013 Mine would be: 21 Super Elmar 35 Summilux 50 Summilux I'm a third of the way there For decades I kept at least one long lens in the bag, and 99% of the time they've sat unused. It took awhile, but I finally realized where I see and work the best

algrove Posted September 9, 2013 Share #92 Posted September 9, 2013 I see you like lenses with 46mm filter sizes too. I just got a 135/4 Tele-Elmar-M which is -yes, you guessed it an E46 lens. So my E46 kit is now-- 21SEM 28/2.0 35 FLE 1.4 50/1.4 90/2.8 Elmarit-M 135/4 Tele-Elmar-M Lately whatever my lens kit I try to pack lenses of like filter size. Of late I have been going out with 39mm filter size lenses, for example-- 28/2.8 35/2 50/2 APO 90/4 Macro-these 4 make a nice light weigh kit. Looking to replace my expired Hector 135 with another long 39mm filter size lens. Let's not even get into E60, E55 and E49 lenses. Love Leica flexibility. Dr.KOL Posted September 14, 2013 Share #94 Posted September 14, 2013 I got my first Leica, M 240, some two weeks ago. Now I have finally decided about the kit: 28 mm Summicrom 50 mm Lux 90 mm APO Summicrom All of these new and the last versions. If I will feel need to go wider, then I will add 21 mm f/3.4. That's my Perfect Starter's Kit. Best, KOL

IkarusJohn Posted September 14, 2013 Share #97 Posted September 14, 2013 Which lenses? iPhone backup - you should get a D-Lux You're sounding like NZDavid ... Okay, maybe I shouldn't have said that. MarkP Posted September 14, 2013 Share #98 Posted September 14, 2013 I'm not offended. David might be Nice set, but I thought you wanted to travel light (albeit lighter without the Noctilux and 75 Summilux). The 21 Summilux and 90 APO-Summicron are hardly light-travelling lenses
IkarusJohn Posted September 15, 2013 Share #99 Posted September 15, 2013 My other kit involves an 80-400 f 2.8, AF-S ED zoom. The Summilux and Sunnicron will fit in a pocket. If you have the gear, use it. It won't take pictures sitting on a shelf at home!
