Guest tanks Posted July 29, 2013 Share #21 Â Posted July 29, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good choices for focal lengths in my opinion. Â Regarding the 90 f/2 and 90 f/4, I have the APO 90 f/2 and it is my second most used lens. If you are thinking of using the 90 f/4 for macro, well even with the macro adaptor it is only 1:3 magnification, whether that meets your needs is up to you. Dr.KOL Posted July 29, 2013 Author Share #22 Â Posted July 29, 2013 I have understood the 90 mm APO is a fantastic lens. May I ask you what is the lens you mostly use? Â Best, KOL
Doc Henry Posted July 29, 2013 Share #23  Posted July 29, 2013 Thank you for your reply. Furthermore, I would like to get some users' comments about 90 mm Macro.  Regards, KOL Hi Kol, I have all the last Leica lens , from wide angle to tele ie 28 mm to 135mm (except 75 and 21, I don't like super wide angle because distorts the image). I also have an M8 and 9 (CCD) and I do not plan to buy M (Cmos) for the moment Here are some pictures taken with MacroElmar 90 (ME 90) (also pictures with Apo Summicron 90 asph heavier than ME90, and 135 ApoTelyt) , ME 90 is very good in my opinion, very light (less than 500 grams I think) very convenient and gives stunning images. To recommend  (Thank you to click on the top, center and right icon to enlarge) 90 apo Summicron asph L1014162poppiesM8apocron90asphred1200lug.jpg L1013442htcoqavred600.jpg L1000593concertedouishtred900.jpg L1000021-1.jpg 90 MacroElmar (with and without macroadapter) L1011987htcplednred1200.jpg L1000607coccifleurmE90ht red900.jpg L1000048_modifi__-1.jpg L1010987_modifi__-1.jpg  135 apo Telyt asph L1013123ht-2red1200.jpg L1012999-3htcoqpopies135red1200.jpg L1013020-2htcoqavred1200.jpg  Best Henry
Dr.KOL Posted July 29, 2013 Author Share #24 Â Posted July 29, 2013 Thank you Doc Henry, Â I have now decided that the longest lens will be Macro-Elmar 90 mm. Later, if I feel so, I can get either APO 75 mm or APO 90 mm. Â Now I still need to make up my mind about the WA and medium lens. I might still take 50 mm f/1.4 and as the wide one either 24 or 28 mm. This would leave space for WADE if I feel later that I might need one. Â Thank you also for showing the photos. Dr.KOL Posted July 30, 2013 Author Share #27  Posted July 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you all for your comments.  I ordered:  28 mm f/2.0 50 mm f/1.4 90 mm Macro-Elmar f/4.0  If I feel that I need something wider, I will buy later:  Either WADE or 21 f/3.4  And in case I will need a faster small tele, I will get  Either APO 75 mm f/2 or APO 90 mm f/2.  If I still will feel that a 35 mm is needed, I will get a X2 as a spare camera.  Thanks again, KOL
ananda Posted July 30, 2013 Share #28 Â Posted July 30, 2013 that's a lot of lenses. I can't imagine why anyone would need so many lenses, unless they are just investments of a sort. Further, I would hardly want to lug all that around. Defeats the purpose of owning an M camera, IMO

Dr.KOL Posted July 30, 2013 Author Share #30 Â Posted July 30, 2013 I agree. Â I have a favorite brand of watches, Patek Philippe. I have several even I could manage with one... It's just nice to have a business watch, travel watch, daily beater, tuxedo watch... Â In my mind a bit similar issue with lenses. algrove Posted August 7, 2013 Share #31 Â Posted August 7, 2013 In this case a 35/1.4 FLE would be a nice tuxedo lens-appropriate in most cases. It is one lens I never leave home without.
