Alberti Posted July 13, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted July 13, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I do think the LUMU app for light measurement is nice; a bit expensive maybe. It has an interesting, very nice user interface. Building upon this development, the app could be expanded with averaging, zone metering, B&W features (like filters), measuring color temperature (e.g. 2709 degrees Kelvin) and some additional color temperature sub parameters that can be used in a specific camera to set the correct temperature/tint-hue settings. Freeze an output for use (like select). Â Now the next really innovative step could be: wireless transfer of the the settings (light/color/flash readings) from the app to the camera through a push connection, the camera then being the slave, via for instance Bluetooth. Might even add a remote 'expose/take/capture' button. Â The camera being of course a Leica 240, S2 ... Â The M does not have a BT facility; here is an opportunity to upgrade to the professional use (fit for purpose) of the successful Leica camera. philipus Posted July 15, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted July 15, 2013 I use iZoner which is very accurate (at least on my phone) and has many nifty functions, such as spot metering and "hi-low" indications. Pretty "ugly" as iOS appls go but it does the trick very well.
Alberti Posted July 15, 2013 Author Share #3 Â Posted July 15, 2013 That is indeed functionally a nice user interface, with the spot meter, but a bit crude indeed. Â but what do you think of that idea of 'pushing' the data like exposure/light temperature to the camera?
jaapv Posted July 16, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted July 16, 2013 I use Lightmeter Pro - when I use the phone as an exposure meter, which is not too often.

But, given that I use film only, I'll have to leave the pushing of info to the camera to my own brain and hands
Paul J Posted July 16, 2013 Share #6 Â Posted July 16, 2013 This looks like a handy thing to have, although limited, if it's not a flash meter too and probably end up as another thing sitting in the bottom of my draw. A look through spot version would probably be good.
