rsh Posted July 11, 2013 Share #6 Posted July 11, 2013 If so, and if it were fast, it would be large, heavy and expensive and only work with the M 240.
Nick_S Posted July 12, 2013 Share #7 Posted July 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would like to see a 35-50-90 tri-elmar as an all in one travel lens. It could have well defined click stops for use with traditional rangefinder bodies, but allow the settting of intermediate focal lengths for cameras with live view. jaapv Posted July 12, 2013 Share #9 Posted July 12, 2013 What is wrong with the whole series of marvellous R zooms?
Michael Geschlecht Posted July 15, 2013 Share #10 Posted July 15, 2013 Hello Nick, There is not likely to be a 35-50-90. For quite a while now, Leica has not liked to be in competition with itself Best Regards, Michael
IkarusJohn Posted July 15, 2013 Share #11 Posted July 15, 2013 What is wrong with the whole series of marvellous R zooms? They're marvellously expensive.
Jeff S Posted July 15, 2013 Share #12 Posted July 15, 2013 What is wrong with the whole series of marvellous R zooms? Leica doesn't make any money off of them. And they are about as available at Leica dealers as new M cameras. I don't know about zooms, but I'd be surprised if some new, longer M lenses don't appear at some point. I'd rather the company make money with new M and S lens offerings than more mini nano vario stuff. That is unless a real mini M appears, but that's another story. Nick Funnily enough I've been secretly testing a pre-production 35-50-90 f2, which is the same size as the current 50mm Summicron... in my dreams.
