Visoflex macro questions

I hope you bear with me for some rookie Visoflex macro questions. I'm curious about this and since I have an M4 and a TTL I guess I'd need a Visoflex III to be able to use both bodies.

If I use a Visoflex III plus the Bellows II with my Summilux 50 Asph what is the maximum magnification I could get?

Will my Summitar work if I use my ordinary Voigtländer M-LTM adapter?

Lastly, I'm not interested in using flash but would like a continuous light source - any suggestions for this?

Many thanks in advance for your help

Philip

Google Visoflex pages. All you need is there.

close up with a normal 50 generally does not work well. Perhaps the floating elements will resolve it.

Get a black 65 3.5, not the silver and it will serve you well.

Phillip - 1) yes you need the Viso 3 to use with both cameras

2) Not sure the max mag with your 50 but somewhere in the order of 3.2x (at least if you use the Ring 16596

3) yes this will work with the LTM-M adapter

4)try the new LED photolights

As Toby says the 65 is probably better than most 50's although Leica used to recommend the original 50/2.8 Elmar

I like more working distance and prefer a 90 mm - the first 90/2.8 Elmarit had a detachable head that needed the 16464 adapter to mount on the Viso. This gave focusing range of infinity to 19.7" (or a max repro ratio of 1:3.3). There is also an extension tube (16471) for this latter set up that reduces the focus range to 19.7"-15.4" and max repro ratio of 1:1.7.

The 16464 and 16471 both work with the lens head of the 135/4 Tele-Elmar

Hope this helps

David

Maybe you have the best value for money with the Tele-Elmar 135. Because for the 65 you need not only a black one but you will prefer a late one, and these are more expensive. The Tele-Elmar head is quite crisp.

Why do you need a black one?

My silver one works beautifully, was very inexpensive and easy to find, and I'm very happy with it.

Would a black one give more than marginal improvements? You're making it sound like the silver ones are useless, which they're not.
