terrycym Posted July 7, 2013 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2013 Hi Nick, Thanks for the pictures! I notice that you have the Zeiss 21mm F2 as well. Any thoughts on why you got the CV as well? Cheers, Terry
Nick De Marco Posted July 11, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted July 11, 2013 Hi Terry I do indeed have the Zeiss - the 21mm Biogon f2.8 (nb not f2) And that 'nb' is probably the only reason. The Zeiss is a spectacular wide - for me better than the Leica Elmar - but I also felt like getting a lens which has been compared to the Leica 21mm Summilux - which this Ultron has been, and most favourably. terrycym Posted July 12, 2013 Share #4 Posted July 12, 2013 My error, I meant to say F2.8 rather than F2.0. I've been oohing and ahing about getting a wide and my choice has come down to the CV F4, CV 1.8 and Zeiss F2.8 You recon that the F1.8 is better than the Zeiss F2.8 (apperture and size differences aside) and the one to go for? Not necessarily Terry it depends what you want. I think the Zeiss maybe the sharpest, with least distortion and wonderful colours. I expect the CV 1.8 is only shortly behind it. My reason for wanting the 1.8 is for being able to shoot with it faster than f2.8 - that is the only reason I bought it. If that is not important to you the Zeiss would be better in my opinion.
