ldhrads Posted July 2, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently switched from Aperture to LR now that I"ve started using the MM. I used LR4 briefly but hadn't even scratched the surface before upgrading to LR5. Now that I"ve actually had some time to use my MM and watch some of the online tutorials I am curious about the lens correction profiles. I didn't notice this in LR4, but again, really didn't use it much. I've applied correction to a few of my images based on the lens I was using 50/2 v4 with interesting results. What I don't know is if i'm "correcting" or "altering" and I'm not sure wether one should or why one wouldn't use this? I did shoot the MM over the weekend and got 4 images with 75/1.4 which isn't available in the profile menu!? I'd love some feedback on this, thanks! Bobitybob Posted July 7, 2013 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2013 As far as I know, the original file is not changed only the image you see in Lightroom. I also think Adobe produce a free piece of software to make your own lens profiles so if you can't find one on the web for your 1:1.4/75 then you could have a go at making one yourself. I'm sure there will be threads on this if you do a search. Hope that's helpful
