I took a knife to a gunfight!

Just back from a photography weekend in the Marlborough Sounds.

Needless to say, I was the only Leica shooter. For these shots, I used my AA Summicron 90, with my M9-P - shot at ISO 160. It's very tricky focussing manually, while all round you other photographers are machinegunning their 5DIIIs with 400/4 IS lenses. Interestingly, a number said they were impressed with my silent shutter! :)

That is a damn impressive shot with a RF Leica and a beautiful shot with any camera at all. I would confess to shooting lots of wildlife but all with fast AF Nikons and pretty big glass.

Hi John,

This is an advantage when you shoot birds .... the silence :D

Thanks for the kind comments, guys. The last one is my favourite as well.

After three days, I took about 200 images. One guy with a Canon and a huge lens machine gunned off around 4,000 images. That said, the good ones were very impressive.

Considering trading my M9-P for a D800E and the new 80-400 f/4 zoom.

I would think long and hard about that one. I have a Nikon D2sx and 80-200 Nikkor zoom and it never gets used. Instead I'm using a D-Lux 4 and a M6 with three lenses.

There is less pain carrying them around and the IQ is about the same.

Impressive photographs - esp. with a RF and a 90. The #3 is an extraordinary and excellent shot in an absolute way - no matter, what camera has been used.

It is an example for a photograph made by an outstanding photographer.
