The mount looks very similar to that of the 35mm f / 2.8 Summaron "Post" lens, but D.Laney's first edition of Leica Collectors Guide does not list a corresponding 35mm Summicron.

The "Post" lenses were used by the German Post Office to photograph banks of telephone meters for billing purposes. I saw one once which my friend claimed had been used for the same purpose by the Irish Telephone system. As far as I can remember, and the absence of a focussing scale in your pictuture tends to confirm this, the lenses were fixed focus. If your lens cannot be focussed then it is probably a Post lens. If so it is probably very rare, since digital metering of telephone calls soon made the cumbersome system obsolete and the Summicron type would have been introduced after the f/3.5 and f/2.8 Summarons were discontinued.

i met a 35 2.8 post lens on camera body before and just cost about 399 eur

but i knew nothing about it thus i miss the deal

i also saw a summicron 35 2 in 7 elements made for post only once in ebay

this lens is different to post lens is that it has no iris inside, iris gap is read but not installed.

elements of the lens is fixed inside the metal body in one piece and can not be separate as post lens.

the lens is full of fungus but no effect on pics
