Karl G Posted June 14, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 14, 2013 Many years of growth there indeed. Love the carpet of wild flowers at the base, almost nature's way of placing flowers around a gravestone.

Northwest Wanderer Posted June 14, 2013 Share #7 Posted June 14, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Paul, Nice to see a picture that makes one think. Logging is king in my area and I find it sad that so many trees are cut down for frivolous usage. Many years ago the Ohio Match Company cut down hundreds of trees in my area just to turn them into matchsticks. Go figure?
platypus Posted June 15, 2013 Share #8 Posted June 15, 2013 Lovely but sad shot. I live in a timber cutting area too.

pauledell Posted June 15, 2013 Author Share #10 Posted June 15, 2013 Karl, Michael, Guenther, Tri, Bill and Dee, Thanks to all of you for the encouraging words and the agreement about the thoughts I intended to convey about the needless tree-cutting and the example I photographed was definitely unnecessary.
