Carduelis Posted June 3, 2013 Share #4 Posted June 3, 2013 For the new M(240) when I finally get my hands on one, it will be a 90 mm Elmarit M f2.8 (latest model) which is likely to be my final lens. In conjunction with my Ricoh GXR which will become a back up camera, I think the following combination of lenses will be neat for travel. 24 mm Elmar f3.8 (already own) 50 mm Summicron M f2 (already own) 90 mm Elmarit M f2.8 With Ricoh GXR (1.5 crop factor) I gain another 3 focal lengths: 36 mm (Elmar), 75 mm (Summicron) and 135 mm (Elmarit). I already own a 35 mm Summarit f2.5, CV 15 mm F4.5 and Tele-Elmarit 90 mm F2.8 (thin) which with the Ricoh GXR is my lightweight 1 kg kit for use on strenuous walks. Yarosuav Posted June 3, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 3, 2013 If you want just one lens, that will deliver great results and be flexible in terms of the look you can achieve, I would just buy the latest Noctilux. You really can't go wrong with it!
macjonny1 Posted June 4, 2013 Share #6 Posted June 4, 2013 Get the noct.

IWC Doppel Posted June 4, 2013 Share #8 Posted June 4, 2013 Neil Seems you have the 21 Summilux and perhaps a 50 Noctilux. Given your experience with an M9-P you probably know the focal lengths you like, isn't the question around which lenses of these focal lengths ? I hope you bond with the M this time

jdlaing Posted June 4, 2013 Share #10 Posted June 4, 2013 I hope so too................I have been looking through all the pictures in the pictures section and I am missing my Leica already:( Well....... If you get a new lens and have to wait a long time for the M, you can put it in the pants pocket of those Nomex coveralls and fondle it from time to time. lct Posted June 5, 2013 Share #13 Posted June 5, 2013 If you liked any lens on the M9 you will like it as well on the M240. The latter does not need special lenses at all.

earleygallery Posted June 5, 2013 Share #16 Posted June 5, 2013 You already have a lens/lenses? Is this thread just to show off that you're buying a new camera? (not a Mexican).
IkarusJohn Posted June 5, 2013 Share #17 Posted June 5, 2013 You already have a 21 Summilux, 35 & 90 Summicrons, and apparently you have a Noctilux; what focal length do you feel you're missing? My preferred 4 lens kit is 21-28-50-90. It looks like you have the standard M primes covered. What the M(240) adds is macro, zoom and long telephoto - see if you can find the following lenses - Vario-Elmarit - R 28-90 f/2.8-4.5 ASPH zoom Vario-APO-Elmarit - R 70-180 f/2.8 zoom Macro-Elmarit - R 60mm f/2.8 APO-Summicron - R 180mm f/2 & a tripod! lct Posted June 5, 2013 Share #18 Posted June 5, 2013 I thought you can use R lenses True and many non Leica lenses as well through an adapter.
