Nice color

Thanks, Henry. I was thinking more along the lines of him not liking "silly child's play" because he is stubborn in his old age.... ;) Edited by A miller

Hi All, just some infos this sunday morning that make me happy.

I noted here some extracts :
....because that's just what I said about my poppies : "thinness" of digital

....about the "sterility" of digital (I agree) , "digital" imitates "film look" (like Ricoh GXR cam)"

..."choice of film like choice of lens"

Finally :

" There’s a certain thinness to digital capture, because it lacks the organic texture

intrinsic to the film image. The organic nature of film grain adds a layer of separation from

reality, and this separation, far from adulterating the image, helps feed the viewer’s imagination"

In shortit lacks in the digital what I call  the "impressionist artistic" side of film
for example for my poppies. I also call "flat" image with "no soul", a "synthetic" image with "smoothing" pixels everywhere with no "nuance" : look at my fog pictures.

Congratulations for this true and logical point of view . I completely agree with it :)

Film is not dead !

Adam on your picture, you have 3 generations, so our old man should be happy

It reminds me the Amish I saw in the USA.

I really love this one Doc. Feels like 30 years ago and a fabulous colour and light palette. Très bon. Bravo!

I do not own a digital m, I bought a Ricoh GXR to use my Leica lenses digital and it was said to be leicalike, but now I use it still to take pictures of our handmade jewelleries.

In spring I took a few pictures to compare the results. Three pairs, one made with the ricoh and 2/35IV and the other with m6 2/50IV portra 160 scanned with my "junk"scanner

Adam, thanks for your opinion. With slides, unless I have something else in mind, I aim to achieve in post what the slide looks like on the light table.

br

Philip

wonderful, Gary.  But I think you could pop the contrast a bit more in order to depend the blacks that pop the colors

this is really wonderful

love this one, Keith.  Great light

I really like this one, Philip.  I think that the shadows particularly in the tree trunk could be deepened a bit.  But I really like the shot and the exposure is spot on
