They say you can spot an AI generated picture looking at the hands.  AI struggle a lot with fingers.  This seem to be a real painting but the hands looks a bit weird.  I like the overall framing and composition (photo).

Well spotted. Vermeer is a very famous painter, but indeed, the hands he painted often look very weird.
@Klaus, did you take your picture at the recent exhibition of Vermeer in Amsterdam?

Thank you, lekitr. Yes, you are right, once you start to look for the details, even the great masters weren't perfect. Not then and not now. Vermeer apparently had a problem with hats on peoples heads. Look at the hat of the customer... Hopper couldn't paint faces--they all look the same and CD Friedrich could paint faces either-so you see only the back of monks and wanderers. But-they are great masters anyway. Irrespective of imperfect hats and hands and faces... I am quite sure that AI can or will be able soon avoiding  all these imperfections. But isn't it ironic that the AI creation will undoubtedly be inferior despite its superficial perfection ?

Yes Christoph, I treated myself to a first class train ticket and a long weekend  of culture in Amsterdam. Visited  the Rijksmuseum;  Vermeer  is an all-time favorite of mine so I just had to go.  And the FOAM.  And the Concertgebouw for  some Mahler. A dream !

Portra stretched. You can almost see those silver-grains, starving for light, snatching after each photon and forming a precariously fragile image in the process. No wonder then that a fantôme enters the picture as well.
But, whatever, the mood is there.

The exhalation of spirit? Tell us that you didn’t see it at all at the time you captured this moment.

I didn't see it! I swear! Honest!

I have no idea what caused this but it's just one of those things with film that seem to just happen from time to time. Call it a happy accident, whatever. But I sure like it!
