Why do I keep coming back to this? Is it the Magritte-like, almost surrealistic chorus of minimalism? Is it the mystery of the pole slightly off-center? Or is it the history of it all? Is it an homage to the first photograph taken by Niepce through a window? Or should we go back to the Renaissance and begin with Leon Battista Alberti and his notion of perspective in Book One of his treatise On Painting (1435)? "First of all about where I draw. I inscribe a quadrangle of right angles, as large as I wish, which is considered to be an open window through which I see what I want to paint." Yes, the history and invention of perspective succinctly framed by your view of the beach in Deauville.

Certainly you cannot fool us into believing this is not evidence of alien life form?

I had never heard of these--at first glance I thought they were some sort of Chinese philosophers' stones--but reading up on them, they're remarkable. Thank you for introducing us (or at least, me) to these amazing objects.
