The fancy woodwork trim on old wooden houses here is called 'gingerbread' - not a term I ever heard in that context in the UK.

Hi ,  thank you to Chris and to all those who encourage me ...  and also thank you for your comments on my pictures of poppies

For Chris ,  this picture I find the quite " special color " IMHO ...  but it's what I see the day this photo was taken

Scan Nikon CS5000 in TIFF size 120 MO > more than the M10 (it's not a "can worms") sic M JMF

Absolutely convincing color reproduction in this picture. One can easily feel the slightly cool chill coming from this pre-winter scene.
