Spooky pictures, the symbolism of the second one enhancing the effect of the first.

Nice and old and twisted. "Wildwood" by Roger Deakin comes to mind.

I always find it very difficult to make the mist look right - you amiably succeeded. Also a very nice camera you used.

Iceberg in the Antarctic sculpted by wind water and waves.

Image shot in 1989 with a Leica M5 film camera with 35mm Summicron f / 8.0 on Velvia 50 colour slide film.

Scanned Dec. 6 2021 with a Nikon Coolscan 8000 with Silverfast 9 Archive Suite.

Wonderful monochrome. Looks like a cyanotype.

Lovely shot. Could you explain cold standing with C41? Intriguing I suspect, especially for when C41 starts getting exhausted.

This particular batch of C41 has been used only for cold/stand processing. It is probably about three months old and has been used for around 7 rolls of film. So far, with this batch of chemistry, I have been using the same process every time: no indication of substantial weakening of chemistry, yet. I stand develop with developer for 50 minutes with one minute of initial agitation; I then semi-stand with Blix for one hour with one inversion every 20 minutes.

With my previous batch of chemistry I got to the point where I was pretty sure the chemistry had exhausted itself (normal/heated process) and then experimented with cold processing (using the same chemistry) for a couple of months and about 5 or six rolls. I like the results. colors seem to take on a more pastel hue.

Of the various films I have cold processed, I would say the Portra 400 has yielded the best result. Ektar was OK, but not nearly as nice as the Portra.

Best

Very poetic, Dmitry. Crows are fascinating birds and your picture does them justice

Thank you Christoph. I experimented a little, using an extra stop as well as the metered exposure. Universally the metered exposures were fine, the extra stop was pointless with a near silhouette that I wanted with over-exposed hightlights. I think the Pyro developing possibly helped with the highlights, but only a comparison test would check this. I do like the Contax a lot, but the exposure compensation dial is awkward, so next time I'll take out the 167 which is a bit easier to use. Lovely bright finders, compact cameras with great lenses though!

I did have a 139 also - a long time ago. I use the lovely lenses now on an S2, same form factor, but mechanical only.
