What an engaging scenario, the  headless cartoon figures with a bench behind for the little ones in a photo opportunity. The presence of absence at the roadside stop, the history of this little strip of land, all the mugging for the camera, souvenirs of the moment for the scrapbook, and that oversized West End Draught Beer courtesy of the Kulgera Pub nearby. Cheers, Phil!

What a beautiful photo! And, IIRC, you have the greatest stock of Diafine in the world. The rest of us are waiting and waiting, hoping it will eventually be in stock.

I like the crows in the background. Too bad they were not vultures. Nice shot.

Thank you so much Wayne and Rog, and to all those who gave my little photo a wink and a nudge. Sad to say, Wayne, that Australia is one of just two continents (Antarctica being the other of course) where vultures don't exist, so we're stuck with crows (although they might equally be Australian ravens, who knows?).

BTW Rog, that's not an oversized can, just a standard size. It's pretty thirsty country out there.

Thank you for posting the one to one comparison. The first I can remember seeing here. My best darkroom prints from 40+ years ago are the standard for my current scanned/inkjet prints.

Thank you! There are relatively simple two bath developers around. This one looks tempting, as it uses easily available chemicals, which can be found at The Photographers Formulary.

Great photo! And a fascinating comparison. The scan of the negative seems a bit sharper, the scan of the print a bit more pleasing. Of course, the tones are different and are adjustable, but the highlights on her face in the scanned print just seem to capture some inner light.

Here's another slice of Australiana. I suspect I might have been using a polarizing filter back in those days. Having said that, it's a very big , very blue sky out there:

lovely colors 👍
