Tourists in Lecce - Leica M6, Summicron 35 asph, Kodak 5222

This is a killer shot, Antonio. The little ‘2’ in the top left hand corner along with the two stones below it, echoing the presence of the two tourists, just make it irresistible.

I like the grain a lot, which is, I guess, something. We're all grains of cosmic dust, or so I've heard. Perhaps we're also nothing, then.

Wow I've never seen anything like these before. How large are they? Fantastic results too in such a dark environment. The Nikon FA/E/M are just amazing cameras.

Back in May, I went to the Roger Williams Zoo for a Chinese Lantern exhibition. Waited until dusk, and used a Nikon FE so I wouldn't have to meter in the dark. 50 f/1.8 Portra 400 in Cinestill C-41. Here are a few examples from a really, really cool exhibition.

Haha this made me smile, brilliant photo. A cheerful fellow I'm sure.

This is a nice portrait. I will need to check my own Diafine bottles. I haven't used them for a few years. In my experience old fixer tends fo leave a lot of specks on the negs. I use one of those metal coffee filters because the paper ones tend to break for me.

The Boy, on XP2 in Diafine:

There was a great deal of crap on these negatives, so I ran my Diafine solutions and fixer through coffee filters. The Diafine is about four years old but still working like new. Solution A left a good deal of black stuff on the filter, Solution B left nothing, and the fixer had a fair bit of white crystalline matter. I think the black stuff would be a red herring, as the film was agitated in Solution B, fixer and several changes of water afterwards. Maybe it was the fixer, or maybe the tank was just dusty after not being used for months.

Haha very funny (and a little bit scary )

I agree with Phil, a great shot Antonio, well done. And it shows the beautiful tonality that 5222 has, too.

Very serene. Does the v1 vignette this much normally or did you add that?

What a postcard and such perfect tonality, bravo. Forgive the possibly stupid question but what is an artificial mosque?

One of the most exciting parts of my photo project was that I got to visit many of the technical rooms that few staff members, me included, knew existed. They provide the biggest contrast to the other areas of the building, I think. This is the motor that made the old lift I showed earlier move. To get to this space one had to go through an almost invisible hatch in the middle of a wall of a large office space, then through a narrow and quite long corridor which eventually turned right and there it was. The motor was in perfect working order of course.

Thanks, Phil.

I should have indicated that the lanterns are realistic animal-sized, and they are at or near the cages of the actual animals they represent. It was so very cool!

The FE was my 2nd "serious" camera. I bought it in 1979, with insurance money after my Pentax was stolen. I've only had it serviced (minor repairs) twice since.

OOpps! My face is red. I blame C.C. (covid confusion). Clearly posted in the wrong thread. I will see if I can effectively move it later today.
