I like this, Phil. Brings me into the mood to get my Dista 50 and go out.. But no Eucalyptus here, beeches just have their first leaves..

Thank you so much Klaus. I've been meaning to say how much I'm enjoying your Hasselblad shots taken wandering in the vineyards by the river - they are beautifully atmospheric. And, yes, the 50mm Distagon is just a lovely lens.

This is lovely Jean-Marc! Where is it? Pretty sure it's a destination that will have to go on my bucket list!

Thank you ! It is an old village  near Saana in Yemen. Was there some 20 years ago.

This kid was given a kalashnikov for his birthday...

I snapped the photo and scarpered before his training session began !

These are very cool, Gary. What's the story here?

I hate to say it Phil, but I am not sure. I will endeavour to find out. They appeared at about the time the new expressway was completed between Hamilton and Auckland. There is a similar but smaller one on the other end of this recent section. I am sure there will be a cultural significance, I find them fascinating. You have to go off the beaten track to actually get to them, most drivers will either not see them, or simply whizz past. I love them.

Vielen Dank ! Es ist ein altes Dorf in der Nähe von Saana im Jemen. Gab es vor etwa 20 Jahren.

Ich machte ein Foto und machte mich auf den Weg, bevor seine Trainingseinheit begann!

Picture from my father about 1969, Zermatt (Matterhorn region), Switzerland, Zeiss Ikon Contaflex, slide (i fotografed the slide with my Leica-Elmarit-Apo-R-100 makrolens, conversion to black and white). Zermatt in this time was not yet destroyed by tourism:

Your father's pictures are truly awesome. I would be very pleased to see more of them here, as I think this is an excellent documentary!
