Rolleiflex 6006, Planar 2,8/80, Ilford FP4,

Lovely, Thomas, and great choice of film. Where is this? How do you find the 6006? Sorry for bringing the "spanish inquisition" but I just bought a Rolleiflex 6008 and am interested to hear user experiences of the 6000-series cameras (and lenses).

Thank you, this is in Verona near the Etsch in the old town in 2019. Well the 6006 is a very nice camera with very good results. The lenses are superb, but the camera is quite heavy. For few months I won an auction on Ebay and got a Hasselblad 500CM with a few lenses. It is not so heavy as the Rolleiflex, but I have to put this camera set first to the service to clean the central shutter of the lenses. The Rollei is more robust from my point of view. I think the Rolleiflex 6008 is a very good choice especially with the PQ lenses. Despite the Hasselblad, I kept my Rolleiflex equipment and lent it to my daughter's friend.

Thanks Thomas. I've twice had Hasselblads and never really gelled with them. The Rolleiflex - yes, I hear you, it is heavy! - but it is well balanced and the grip really makes things easy. Anyway, I'm still getting through my first roll and reading the manual as I go, so we'll see how it all pans out. I hope you get your Hasselblad back and running sweetly soon, and look forward to seeing the results. In the meantime, your daughter's friend could post here...

It's truly interesting to see Rog's and Steve's photos appear so near each other. I see distinct similarities. In both it's as if we're being forcibly zoomed in on a small part of a whole, it feels myopic somehow, with little details growing out of proportion and obscuring the reality around. Marvellous work both of you, and really enjoyable to be able to view both near each other like this.

This begs so many questions...Where was this photographed, what is it? Is this young boy really at work? There's a slightly disturbing feel to this image.

Lovely work Thomas. I really like the 'softness' of all the edges and corners. It reminds me of the work of Henry B Goodwin (and coincidentally there's an online auction today of quite a bit of his works).

Thank you Philip. I just saw the pictures of Henry B Goodwin. They are really beautiful.

Really nice image! Can't decide, what I've would done: Moved to the left to get more from the bikers as a backgroud or moved to the right to isolate the bike (which looks great in front of this housewall)
Colors and motorbike style are matching really good
