philipus Posted August 4, 2020 Share #70583 Posted August 4, 2020 Congratulations on finishing the Transect Andy! I looked at Colorado Seen but don't find it. Have you published it anywhere yet? The photos you posted here are really nice, sublime tones and composition as always. 7 hours ago, adan said: That would have been quite a trick, since the fancy (C)330 didn't arrive until 1969. Probably a C or C2 with 105mm lens - nevertheless, the pictures are very well done. About that age I had a Yashica-D - now a Mamiya 6 + 50/75/150 Which reminds me... what with lockdowns and dealing with some family crises, I have't posted here recently. Finished my 46-picture Colorado Transect project in late June, and this is one of the last pictures I had to find. In a place like this, social distancing was easy...... I really like the classic vintage look. 8 hours ago, erl said: Back in about 1958, I borrowed a Mamiya 330 with (I think) a 110mm lens. There was a very pretty girl I was entranced with and needed an excuse to photograph her. ie. needed to 'test' the camera 😇. Hand held camera, with only desk lamps and wobbly old stands and a couple of floodlights I nervously managed these two images (edited from two rolls of 12 exp.). Worth a giggle for me today. I wish I knew where she is now. So true for so many of my subjects. Glamour Girl Dreamer (double exp in camera)
Popular Post philipus Posted August 4, 2020 Popular Post Share #70584 Posted August 4, 2020 Andy's beautiful reflection above has inspired me to leave Tbilisi for a while and jump back to Stockholm. This is the Karlberg palace, built in 1630 and centrally located in Stockholm. The Royal War Academy was founded there in 1792 and the location has been used as military academy every since. This makes it the world's oldest military academy to remain in its original location. Large parts of the area including the beautiful park are accessible to the public. Welcome, dear visitor! philipus Posted August 4, 2020 Share #70586 Posted August 4, 2020 Sounds great, I really look forward to the results. I understand what you mean, such is life; it tends to get in the way of other things. But I do hope that will go well too. 45 minutes ago, adan said: Working on a new magazine issue right now, and a Blurb book - but it may be a while. A great documentary and worth being printed and exhibited. 14 hours ago, erl said: Back in about 1958, I borrowed a Mamiya 330 with (I think) a 110mm lens. bags27 Posted August 4, 2020 Share #70590 Posted August 4, 2020 (edited) There seems to be a well-founded rumor (not sure how well-founded) that Plustek is coming out with a new version of its 120 scanner. I've emailed Plustek for confirmation and awaiting response. This would be especially important for MF photographers. I think the current Plustek is the very best 35 scanner short of the Nikon. I do my own scanning right now, but I sure will be watching this closely..... Indeed, just heard back. A 120 pro is in the works. No date yet. I would have been about 17/18 at the time, which puts it in the late 50's. It would have been a C22(?) and I think, as you said, a 105mm lens. I do like your Private Crossing' pic. I see some humour in it as who would know if you crossed the line out there! 😇
erl Posted August 5, 2020 Share #70597 Posted August 5, 2020 Continuing my retrospective series, for the moment. Here is a selection (5) shot in a restaurant/club in Cappadocia in July, 1989. Film was Kodachrome 64 in a Nikon F801 with a 2.8/24mm lens. Handheld exp at about 1/2sec. Can't believe how desperate I was to get pics in such low light with that film! Welcome, dear visitor!
