The bench in front of Widolff's GS&T (General Store & Tavern,) run by three generations of Widolffs, with fourth generation taking a pass. Many are the times I sat on this bench/pew to change film, or take a rest after a long walk. Old school; safe harbor; a bulwark against "Innovation." I am told there will be new ownership:...."a guy who buys small businesses and builds them up."

^ I fear you'll have to get used to something like Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccinos from that store in future, Wayne.

Looks like my kind of crowd.

If they go with a good, thick espresso, they may pull me in. As far as frappuccino goes........I'll just go with a milkshake.

This is really good James, and I prefer the tender light and palette of this one to the previous one. The rocks almost look lit by gelled strobes.

Thank you very much! The different nuances probably come from different exposure times. I only guessed the times without a certain method and just relying on my own feelings. This leads to totally different results. Nothing a professional photographer would do, but I am very happy with this pictures :)

I'm enjoying your "long exposures" James, for me you have a nice mix of movement and detail. Oh and the colours are sublime.

Thanks - and yes, maybe long exposures is not the right description, but in my book everything above a second seems very long - at least in these unstable and fast moving times :)

Sterling photographs, James. You've set the skies aflame, made the seas glow like molten lava and the rocks like burning coals.

Look forward to more...

Thanks, it is all about the textures and the colors, so you have nailed it.

I like both Antonio, and have done the same with the Hasselblad. At least you can chop and change, if you feel like it. Loading/unloading is a tad fiddly though, certainly was for me with the Hasselblad. Changing films was done at night, inside, (in Venice and Rome in 2018 actually), but all part of the fun.

If that guy is sentimentally inclined he might be open to the idea of having this photo on the wall.

To me, these cars, when they appear during the spring, are like the common brimstone, a sure sign that summer's around the corner. And it seems that they also go into hibernation at the end of the summer, just like that butterfly does :D

Really convincingly done Rog. The lighting is truly cinematic.

We here (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) have just be locked down to stage 4 after several weeks of stage 3, because of Covid. I haven't used a camera in month's. Since first restrictions were introduced in March, I have focussed on scanning 15,000+ slides from my past life. I am about 1/2 way through, making random selections to pamper my whim. I will subject you to some of them periodically, mostly Kodachrome 64, which, IMO have not weatherd exceptionally well. The Ecktachromes that I processed myself seemed to age more gracefully. Some were also shot on Kodak negative films of varuious flavour as well. Enough of that. I shall start with an initial selection (not the full 15,000 😁 ).

Vantage point.
