Can not remember the last real winter here must more than 10 years ago.
Perhaps i have to move to Lappland…

Perhaps 1993 or 1995. Two years with very heavy inundations, 10.13m and 10.08m in Bonn, both in winter.

Gorgeous colours and textures.

Thank you Keith. It was a dull day,  shot from the hip-meaning no tripod- so  the Lux wide open  its not as sharp as it should be--but I just couldn't  resist the colours and the textures as you say. Seems you and your Hassi have the same approach 😃

Shlomo, the dog is giving you the eye ! Probably thinking: what the hell is just happening with  the histogram ? ... Anyway, interesting shot. What are these reflections on the tarmac?

This is very lyrical, like a transit from black and white to color, so classic and "frozen" in the moment. It has prompted me to pull Norbert Schneider's The Art of the Still Life off the bookshelf and consider his question: "How do the objects in a still life reflect the habits, thoughts, and aspirations of the time?" The answer invariably breathes life into the subject, calling up what Phil would allow is the cinematic montage. Do we hear Phil at the Moviola?

"color field" truck in a... er... field

nikonos v, 35mm, kodak gold 400

My, oh, my, an infinite world within a world. An adroit play of positive and negative space, to boot! The "lives" of this artifact beg translation. Methinks I hear happy tunes, but perhaps you have the hint of a theme song here? Bravo, Phil.

Ha ha - thanks Rog. Yes, as a matter of fact The Who's Baba O'Reilly is swimming through my head. The first line after all is "Out here in the fields...". I looked at the work of a few of the colour field painters and Helen Frankenthaler and Clyfford Still seem to have done work from which this truck might have borrowed. Probably from about the same era, too.

I plan to go back one day with a macro lens and explore some of the detail on this truck. If I can find it again.
