I saw some sample photos shoot with the new M. As always no high contrast examples have been presented. I was so disappointed with my MII some years ago, no one single image on a regular sunny day was acceptable and this camera was my first Leica at all. No comparison to the film 😄

Actually, you don't have to go further than the Leica Camera website to see high contrast shots with the M10M. Look at this page with images by Alan Schaller: it starts with a few high-contrast images, and then scroll down to the short video — at 00:48 there is a contre-jour image in the rain, very high contrast, that could have been shot with film...or the M10, easily. I'm not in the market for the new Monochrom, but the best review I've read is by Gregory Simpson ("EGOR"), mainly a film shooter, which I would have thought would be of interest to anyone shooting film.

An amazing sequence of images, Adam.  Hard to pick which is best but if a choice had to be made, I think I would plump for #66457.

Thanks, Keith :)

Cracking shot, just sublime! I really like how the vignetting hugs the shape of the tree.

Excellent series Sharif, Perfectly put together. Top left is my favourite if I must choose.

Lovely Joachim, such wintry atmosphere. I wish we could get some snow here in NL but alas it is very unlikely.

Hahaha Antonio, your comment made me laugh. But wow, that is a SHARP lens. Great work on the development too.

This is just the kind of real-world abstract I love, terrifically well seen and executed Andreas.

This could be a film still. And I see that in a way it is :D

Lovely photos the last three, Adam, but this one is my favourite. Well done!

Thanks, Philip!

This one is for Adam: some shots with the Cinestill bw/xx you gave me in New York. Really a very good film, needs some light, I like the "style" of this film.

Thanks a lot for this great gift!

Wow, if I could take an ounce of credit for this photo my head would explode!  Stunning.  And yes, great tones :)  That film is much better in your hands  - my instincts were spot on, as usual :)

Wow Steve, you should put together all your jazz shots into your own sort of "loft" project.

Terrific Marc, tones (and a model) to die for :) That's Cinestill's rebranded Kodak Double-X right? Wonderful results with X-tol. You could consider strengthening the composition by cropping it square and reduce the impact of the legs to focus on those absolutely gorgeous eyes.

This shows one of the things I really like about this thread, that it takes me to places I have never been or even realised I wanted to go before seeing the photos. What a delightful scene. I bet it would look great enlarged on a wall.

Thank you Mitch, I must confess that I don't follow Leica's digital developments at all but I am very happy that the company is active and develops digital cameras as it allows the rest of us to benefit collateral-damage-wise (but rather more positively) from their efforts. That's a good review of the new Monochrom.

Awesome shots Gary, the first one had me do a triple-take before I realised what was shown.

Love it, there's just something about neon on film that can't be captured the same way with digital.

The  shortening of an oblique leg is a difficult task in painting an photography, but with your lovely model and the perfect photography, is gets  an interesting, snapshot-like quality

it´s interesting, that such a bucolic, lovely landscape has inspired such grim b/w  tropes as the vampire-dracula thing....
