Vapour.    [Extra Film 200]      Arles 2019

The light range was excruciating for the film to render; I edited the photo, pulled out some shadows in "Photos" on the Macbook.

Beautiful Pritam ....   and nice color

Before the break, after which we'll go back to Tbilisi, here's another interesting institution found in New Rustavi. An agency with the tongue twister of a name "Ministry of Internal Affairs Legal Entity of Public Law 112". From the looks of it they run the 112 emergency telephone number. This is just around the corner of the National Archives. This is also on Ektar with the 40 Distagon and I believe the PC Mutar was mounted too as I needed to shift a little bit to line up the verticals.

What's a PC Mutar??

Hassy-made device that fits behind the lens and can raise and lower it for perspective correction ("PC") - and to retain infinity focus with the extra depth of the unit, also has a 1.4x "teleconverter" lens element ("Mutar").

More or less converts the 40mm superwide lens into a "56mm" shift-lens to capture the tops of buildings while keeping the vertical lines parallel.

Hi Nefarious, Andy's description is spot on. I wrote an article about this wonderful piece of equipment on my site in case you want to read about it https://philipus.com/pc-mutar because I didn't find much info about it on the interwebz. It looks like this:

I hate to "like" this  but it's a great picture. Greta would be proud to see this :D

I think you did a great job. I visited Arles for the first time this summer and really enjoyed it. Really longing to go back actually.

The film and the flare fit the motif perfectly Rog. Seeing grain like this makes me want to blow the picture up to 11 on the humongous scale and put it on a wall.

Ooh that sounds interesting!  I have almost run out of things to buy for my Hasselblad!! :D

Does it work best in wide lenses?  I have the 50 FLE but not a 40...
