This is wonderful - this is categorically chaotic class! Well, I was trying to break the Tyranny of the Rectangle, but what did I end up with but a bunch of rectangles. The deconstruction is giving me a headache, so I think I’m going to get horizontal. The Poetry of Perspective. Yes, it’s actually the title of one of my books. I finally found my paperback copy of Windows and Mirrors. Thanks so much for getting Szarkowski back on my radar. You are such an encyclopedia, always managing to come up with vital theory and practice. It’s all in the timing, isn’t it? Cheers, Rog 🎬 2
stray cat Posted October 3, 2019 Share #63834 Posted October 3, 2019 Apparently it IS all in the timing, just as IT (whatever that may be) is in the mind of the creative force dealing with a particular set of stimuli. With Disaster Deconstruction, Zone VI, 18% and the others you've trained those illuminated Leica frame lines in a unique and idiosyncratic way onto all sorts of irresistible color field pandemonium. This is so fascinating to witness. You've taken pure theory and energized it with a wild kinetic upheaval. I'm sure Szarkowsky would have the words. 2

Rather than chaos I see a clockwork, although I can't make out the way it works, already. Probably because of the straight lines I see a strong order and my mind is trying to find the mechanism behind, that moves the different parts. Wonderful work it is! philipus Posted October 3, 2019 Share #63838 Posted October 3, 2019 This is wonderful Andy. The multitude of layers of, and I'm searching for the word - is it "tender" perhaps?, tones is just superb. I also really like how the tree stands out as if it had been artificially lit. Truly great work. On 9/28/2019 at 7:23 PM, adan said: Milepost 210, Aspens and the Gore Range, Dillon, CO. Haha this made me smile. I love little details like this. And that painting there adds a really poetic touch too. In fact, the whole image, with its straight vertical and horizontal lines, and the woman being framed, or caught, is just pure poetry. Then there's that other interpretation too, of a human being stuck in the structure of society etc etc. Just great. On 9/28/2019 at 11:24 PM, atournas said: Intense look. Au contraire!
