unusual perspective, but convincing:  the oblique posture is filling the space perfectly, focus where it belongs,  and the ladies long and smooth neck comes into its own...

Adam, really very good, both of them. I personally prefer the first, darker version a little bit....

Really appreciate and value your opinion, Klaus.  It is a tough one for me.  I think the colors in the sky and water really shine best in the full resolution version.  I am going to make a test print and see what it looks like.  I may also reduce the luminance of the blue in the sky a tad, along the lines of your comment, and see what that looks like. Very much a work in process!  Thanks again!

Bethesda Fountain again:

Very lovely, James.  The Bethesda courtyard area is probably the best place for photography in all of Central Park.  People just love those arches and details in the ceiling.   I have it high on my list to go back there with my pano...

Love that scene (which was very close to your "hotel", right?)  It has a 1970's feel to it.

Thanks, Tim!  Hope all is well with your health and I appreciate your comment.  I will keep you amused with my shadow for the next year if you'll stick around :)

I had some hand-held fun on the beach in Tel Aviv with my Technorama.

Here's one with Portra 160 and the 90mm Super Angulon XL...

There are some serious recreational sports happening on the beach :)

Once upon a time in Wien, when the tourists were lessss.... 2003 Konica VXs200.

This year I just watch it as I could not find a moment with less than 20-30 people in frame.

Scanned with Sony A7s+Nikorr60mmD and Nikon ES-2 CaptureOne developed.

The difference between the "religious" beach and the (how should I say) "open-minded" beach is worth a book. Both love the sea but both look totally different. After a time of reflection (approx. 2347 milliseconds) I would prefer the second one 😉

Thanks a lot Klaus! I totally agree with you. It is a very unusal perspective and  in many portrait textbooks it a an absolute no-go to take a photo where you see the nostrils. But I liked the mood and used an open aperture to blur the nose und to have the eye as sharp as possible. And the light was beautiful on her face.

Reminds me of Johannes Itten, Kunst der Farbe. From colour contrast to Quality contrast, you name it it’s there.

Thanks so much for highlighting Itten and his Kunst der Farbe (The Art of Color), one of the bibles of the Bauhaus! He says on the book jacket that "a comprehensive knowledge of the objective laws of color is required to grow beyond the subjective narrowness of conception which is everybody's preliminary approach to the manifestations of color in everyday life and art." Well, it's the academic way of saying that there are objective laws of color, which I argue seems paradoxical, given the subjective response to color. Even so, Itten's book marries his color theory to specific critiques of paintings, more so that Albers focused on the "interaction of color." I highly recommend Itten's The Art of Color.
